unique values legend force different colors with neighboring polygons

Hello,

I've walking around for years now with the following issue (which pops sometimes up when working with ArcGIS desktop):

When making a legend for a discrete variable with the unique values option and given it colors, the colors at neighboring polygons could be almost the same (for example light green and green). Is there a tool/script/option which forces neighboring polygons to have colors in a different (rgb) color-range, for example red and green?
