Hi, I am a somewhat new-ish user of ArcGIS, so excuse if this is a simple oversight or has already been answered, but i couldn't find it in the archives, so asking here...
I am using ArcDesktop10.1, and have a geodatabase project on the go where I need to grab data from an outside database in .dbf format. I have made my database connection and see the associated tables in my file viewer, all seems good. I have joined one of the dbf tables to a feature class in ArcMap using a key field, and that's worked fine.
However the trouble hits when I now have to relate the second table to the first table. ie. table1 joins to a feature class, then table 2 relates to table 1. But when i go to relate table 2 to anything, the feature is greyed out, I can only join it to something. I tried this and it works but i only get that first record in the join, whereas I want the many associated records when I click the 'related table' button.
Anyone have any clues why my second table does not allow for a "relate" function?
