Max Query in Shapefile

I have a shapefile of about 20,000 track points for 27 individuals. Is there a way to query that shapefile so that it only displays the latest point for each inidividual?

It is a collection of tracks for 27 individuals and I am trying to have a map with the tracklogs (polylines) and then a point at the last point in the track.
