I have one time aware layer in a file geodatabase. It contains about 25 rows of data indicating troop positions in a battle in the War of 1812. Each position on the map/row in the attribute table has a start time when the unit arrived at that location and and end time when they left. Times begin at 11pm on 11 September, 1814 and end at 8am on 13 September, 1814. I am currently using the format: 9/11/1814 10:00:00 AM. My original text entries that I converted using the "Convert to Time" tool used the 24 hour clock rather than AM/PM.
I can select the layers properties and turn on time. Aside from the fact that when I calculate the extent of the time, it wants to use 2 hour intervals rather than 1 hour, it seems to work. I can turn on the time slider and view the data. For the first half of the time period, it works fine. Then starting on the night of the 12th, when there should be only one unit still visible on the map, it repeats the entire sequence.
Moreover, when I try to share the map as a service, running Analyze tells me that time is NOT enabled for the map, even if I'm looking right at the active time slider as I run the analysis. The uploaded service doesn't show ALL the data as it should if time really wasn't enabled, it shows NO data at all.
Now, if I replace 1814 with 2001, it works. But that's silly - many of ESRI's own examples on how to use the time slider, etc. use dates like 1810, 1900.... I've manually re-entered the data about 5 times now and even printed an enlarged screen shot so I could comb through it very carefully. I have manually reentered it as time data directly and as text, then converted it. I'm at my wits end. I can post screen shots or anything else readers need to help me diagnose this. I've already had to put off the committee that I'm doing this for once because I can't solve this simple problem with a wopping 25 data points... HELP!
