Automatic change Legend Patch

Hi.

I allways have in my maps, a 'River' shapefile. In the legend, i always change the default patch to another, that i created, like this:

I saved the patch with the 'River' name. Then i saved the legend style with this patch as 'River' too.

I did that thinking that ArcMap could automatic detect that i want to apply this patch in the 'River' legend on my map.
But it doesnt work (like it does with the symbology, when the shapefile have the same name).

Is there any tool (or way) to do this? I want to automatic apply a specific legend patch to my layers.
