AcrMap not showing my digitized layers

I'm having an issue with ArcMap. I was using ESRI's imagery basemap and topographic basemap. I was digitizing some features in hopes of georeferencing an old map of the same area, digitizing it, and analyzing the change in the usage of land for that site. I realized that I created the datasets with the WGS 1984 coordinate system, and the ESRI basemaps use the Web Mercator Auxillary Sphere WGS 1984 projection. So I used the data management tool in Arc toolbox to project my layers to Web Mercator Auxillary Sphere 1984 that the ESRI imagery was using. I also added some feature datasets to the geodatabase that the map was using. (On top of roads, and land parcels, I added county boundary lines and Township polygons.)
Now my map doesn't seem to be working. If I use "zoom to layer" I can view my digitized layers, and I can view my basemap separately, but I cannot view both digitized layers and basemaps at the same time. Because of this, I cannot digitize more features. How can I fix this? Did I do something wrong by modifying the database after I already started digitizing? Did I do something wrong by projecting the layers to a different coordinate system than was present when I created the feature datasets?
I tried restarting my computer, and that did not solve the issue.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your solutions and advice.
