In the layout mode, when you add a Grid to a Data Frame, you can set some Grid Label Properties such as to display Decimal Degrees and show coordinate direction labels, which is great (see attached).
However ArcGIS (since version 9 at least) has never been able to deal properly with the minus sign for negative value, I mean if you have a map in the west, in the United States for example, you don't want to display labels as -110°W in the grid labels ! (see attached)
It doesn't make any sense and this is a redundant information. For the time being, I always convert the grid to graphics and edit these grid labels manually. But there must be a workaround to remove these minus signs in the setting?
