Hi,
I'm in the beginning stages of starting up an LLC to do freelance GIS consulting. Like a lot of people these days I have a Mac at home and use a PC at my day job. I was looking at the latest hardware recommendations/packagges from ESRI and just find them appalling quite frankly. I don't want to spend 2500 on a clunky-looking mid 90's-ish machine from Dell or HP... I realize they have awesome specs but the design and quality I'm just not sure of...
Are there any freelance consultants or small-business folk that could share their hardware purchasing experience with me? I would love to run ArcGIS Desktop via Bootcamp on a Windows 7 partition with the top-of-the-line Mac Pro Retina but I'm unsure if I should (and grudgingly) stick with PC. Especially if I plan on dropping >$2k on something, I want it to hold together for a few years...
Thanks,
Mark
