When using raster mosaics made from 16 bit NTF files in ArcMap 10.1 we have two problems we cannot solve:
1) Right clicking the Image of the mosaic, selecting 'Export Data' and exporting creates a visually corrupted image, there are blocks of different colors and other oddities in the image. A sample:

2) When we need to make maps from these raster mosaics in PDF format the image exported PDF page looks much the same as the above sample, or there are different shades colors in bands across the PDF page.
This only seems to happen with our 16 bit NTF files. These image have 29 levels of pyramids built and statistics calculated as well. Does anyone else have this problem and does anyone know a solution that does not involve converting the file format or resampling them to 8 bit or something like that?
