Dear Forum
I have created a multi scaled basemap for the Middle East. The scales range from 1:9,000,000 down to 1:1,000 using the Google scales. The map contains hillshaded relief, places, parks and road network data. It has a group layers for each scale. What i think I want to do is create a tiled cache using the MXD file and create it locally into a directoy I choose. This process worked fine when caching a simple mosaic dataset. However, when I attempt to run the tiled cache on one cache scale (1:9,000,000) using a small area of interest, the cache just seems to run indefinitely. The data is stored in File Geodatabases and the elevation and hillshading are flat files. I am using ArcMap 10.2 (ArcInfo). Can you produce a map cache this way or is this tool strictly designed for mosaic datasets? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
