I am trying to join an excel spreadsheet to a shapefile and I keep getting this message when trying to validate:
Field names that match reserved words should not be used in database schema and can cause the join to fail. The following fields match reserved words;
- [GROUP] from <tgr17119grp00>
The number of matching records for the join:
- 194 of 194 records matched by joining [FID] from <tgr17119grp00> with [OID_] from <Export_Output$>.
Matching records may not appear in table view due to join validation errors.
The shapefile was downloaded from the US Census. I had to create an excel spreadsheet from the .dbf which I also got from the US Census site. Of the 3000+ rows, two were not valid so I deleted those in Excel. When I bring the new spreadsheet into ArcGIS 10.2, I keep getting this error message when validating. Or only 194 rows will join. Please help.
