I seem to be stuck on this problem. I have a layer that has fields in the attribute table for permit numbers and permit types, among others. I am trying to label a map document, using the banner text style for the text symbol, in which the label text is based on the permit number, but the background color in the banner is based on the permit type. I have seen many maps with this type of labelling style, but I can not seem to figure out how to properly do this, even after seaching through this forum. I am using ArcInfo 10.1. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
