Need a topic to research

Hi folks,

I'm in need of a topic to write about for my class "GIS for environmental studies". We have covered topics such as types of interpolation, watershed delineation and linear referencing, among other things. However, I am looking for a topic that A. Has much written about it, so that it can be a lengthy report (10-15 pages), and also B. I need to use at least 6-12 academic sources. I always have trouble thinking of topics, but if you have anything to offer that I could consider (environmentally related) that would be great. It could just be examples of how a certain GIS technique has been implemented over different scenarios.

I know this is slightly off-topic for the ArcGIS forum, but I didn't see anything labeled "post here for help with paper topics if you are unimaginative". :D
