General Problems with 10.2

I have Desktop 10.2 on two machines and background processing has stopped working on both machines. I have disabled background processing, but waiting for the processes to finish to continue working and not having 64-bit processing is an annoyance. Also, I have updated one machine to windows 8.1 and have encountered numerous problems, i.e. layers becoming unselectable, attempting to run a process and nothing happens, etc. Not really looking for a solution, just sending along observations.
