I'm running ArcGIS Desktop 10.2 Advanced on Win7Pro 64bit.
I've had no crashes of 10.2 up until yesterday after using IDLE (stand-alone, not integrated in ArcMap) to do some intense arcpy/python geoprocessing. I had to kill the script while it was performing read/write actions (make event layers, create new near tables, joins, etc.) because I saw an error in my code that would give incorrect results.
I'm pretty sure I had ArcCatalog open during the geoprocessing operation. It crashed with usual error logging pop-up. Now ArcCatalog crashes immediately every time I execute the same desktop shortcut. I've tried the following things below. Looks like I may have to go digging into the Registry unless someone out there has another catch-all remedy to try. These two are the only ones I have found on the subject.
Here's what I've tried:
- Rebooting
- Deleting files "ArcCatalog.gx, Normal.gxt, GxDBFactCache.dat, GxObjFactCache.dat" from C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop10.2\ArcCatalog
Thanks for your time.
