Scenario:
11 VHA Primary Care facilities located around Washington DC to Baltimore and I need to generate 30 & 60 minute service areas around each. I need it run each hour between 6 AM and 6 PM to show the impact traffic has on the distance our home based primary care providers can travel throughout the day.
Without the model I did this in the Los Angeles area for two facilities. Once done I added a field, date formatted and calculated that to equal the time of day it was run. Once I ran that each hour and calculated the time of day that service area was run for, I merged them together so that I could use the time animation tool to animate the impact of traffic on the service area. Ideally I would like to automate that with a model because we are getting a lot of requests now that planners in the field have seen what has been obvious to them for years, traffic impacts travel distance. Only now we have 10.1 and ESRI's Streetmap Premium Advanced NAVTEQ which allows us to incorporate historical travel times into the analysis. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
