How to display geological multipoint feature (e.g. bed attitude) at different scales?

I would like to know if it is possible to change the display of geological attitude data (e.g. foliations, lineations, bedding) according to the scale of my map, in order to avoid the crowding of symbols in sectors where point density is large.
Taking as an example the next snapshot, I would like the bed attitude data to be displayed with a minor amount of symbols (e.g. 5 or six symbols distributed in the data coverage area), each one showing an average attitude for the part of the area that they represent.
I would also like this to change automaticaly depending on the scale I choose to visualize te map.
