Hi all,
I have had a strange issue the last few weeks. I am working off an external hard drive at a remote office. I use an external because the data is too large to save on my computer and I can't access my corporate network from here. I have noticed lately that data stored in file geodatabases will drop connection periodically such that I have to close and reopen the map to restore those layers. I do not have this problem with shapefiles stored in the same location. When the problem happens, Windows Explorer also closes down with no warning.
I thought my external might be about to go out (I sync the data weekly with our backed up server, so not a huge crisis if it died), but it doesn't make sense that everything other than file geodatabases works just fine (Office docs, mxds, FME models, etc). Any ideas?
Thanks!
