Hi everyone,
No idea if anybody has ever seen this before.
This error happens randomly.
It is a windows 7 machine, running ArcEditor 10.1 sp1
It has so far happened when using the cut line tool, when starting editing a layer, and when using the select by rectangle tool.
I have attached 3 images
Error1.jpg is what you originally see when the error 1st happens - See the Manage features and the Create Attributes windows.
This freezes the manage features window and all the buttons on this window become inactive.
You are also unable to interact with the map, but when you move the cursor, the coordinate reader still updates.
Error2.jpg shows what happens after a few clicks trying to get some sort of response.
A message window pops up, but there is no message to be seen. Also, random symbols appear all over the table of contents and the toolbars. No idea where these symbols have come from, they are definitely not drawn within this mxd.
Error3.jpg shows what happens when I try to either go to the task manager or I try to re-boot the machine. The error message is now legible (partly!!).
Any ideas where this might be coming from?? Any ideas or rough pointers would be much appreciated.
Many thanks to all.
Dan
