Upgrading File Goedatabases at v10.1 and v10.2

To All ArcGIS for Desktop Users:

When my organization upgraded from v9.3.1 to v10.0, I had to upgrade the file geodatabases if I wanted to make use of the latest enhancements to file geodatabases. In addition, the Upgrade Geodatabase button was enabled when I right-clicked on the file geodatabase to access its properties.

Now that my organization is upgrading from v10.0 to v10.1, I thought I would need to go through the same step of upgrading each file geodatabase to make use of the latest enhancements to file geodatabases. Now when I'm on a v10.1 test machine and I go to the properties of a file geodatabase that I created in v10.0, the upgrade button is grayed out and it says that the file geodatabase matches the ArcGIS release that I am currently using even though I never upgraded the file geodatabase.

Does this mean that the file geodatabase has not been enhanced from v10.0 to v10.1?

If this is the case, does anyone know if there were also no changes to the file geodatabase at v10.2, so the same v10.0 file geodatabases would not need to be upgraded in the v10.2 environment either (Upgrade Geodatabase button would again be greyed out)?

Any help or hints on this topic are greatly appreciated.
