Query Layer on Versioned Data

Hello Everyone,

We are currently attempting to dynamically map permits (from non spatial table) to either our parcels, or address points. Our parcels are not versioned. Our address points are versioned. Previously, we would use sde command line to create a spatial view. The spatial view documentation highly discourages creating a spatial view on versioned data. I cannot find any similar warnings for the Make Query Table or Make Query Layer tools.

Is it possible/advisable to use the Make Query Layer tool on a versioned data set?

The idea would be to join our permits to our address points using the spatial column from the address points.
