Georeferencing Misbehaving in 10.1 SP1

I recently reformatted my computer, upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7 x64, using ArcGIS 10.1 SP1, and I noticed something while I was trying to georeference a TIFF raster. Upon my initial control point, the second control point causes the image to dramatically shift in any direction, disregarding the second control point while still maintaining the first. If I place a third, the image completely warps and becomes unreadable. If I delete the second, maintain the first, and "update georeferencing", the image shifts from the first, completely disregarding it.

I've georeferenced lots of TIFF images in the past and this is the first to behiave in this manor. Is this a problem with the software, or what? If this is a software problem, please patch it!
