Feature vertices to points tool returning 5 vertices for a rectangle

Hello,

I am using the "feature vertices to points" tool to generate a point shapefile so I can get the xy coordinates for each corner of a square plot. I used the rectangle construction tool to create the original square polygon and when I run the tool, it returns 5 vertices, although in edit mode the boxes only show four vertices. It appears that the tool is counting the start vertex twice. Looking at the tool help, it doesn't appear that any of the other "point type" options will work and the default is "all."

Has anybody else encountered this and if so, is there any way to count the starting vertex only once?
