Maximum and minimum latitude needed for each polygon in a very large dataset

Hello,

I am compiling a database on frog latitudinal data and was able to get the IUCN to send me their shapefile data for all amphibians. However, I have no idea how to get the minimum and maximum latitude for each species' polygon in the dataset. I have figured out how to get the centroid's latitude but that means very little to me. I am a complete novice when it comes to ArcGIS and I am using ArcMap 10.1 currently so please show me how I can extract this data into an excel file or something I can convert to one easily.
