How to include external (not ESRI) fonts with a map package?

We are creating a map package for an outside user that includes a point file for highway markers. The points are symbolized using a FDOT file that has 5 or so styles of fonts. Everything exports into the package and shows up fine on the other end except these fonts. They are True Type fonts installed on my hard drive. I have attached the style and the TT file as additional files in the dialog box. When adding the styles file to the symbology on the outside machine, the style file attaches, but gibberish fonts appear.

Any suggestions??
