what is the difference between a standard feature class and a parcel feature class?

Hi there

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a standard feature class and a parcel feature class?

I have been reading the help documentation for ArcMap 10.1 (http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/...0000048000000/) and it talks about migrating parcel data. However it doesn't talk about how you get your standard data to be parcel data in the first place.

Is all polygon and / or polyline data in a geodatabase considered to be parcel data?
