Countries 2012

Has anyone noticed the new Countries file with ESRI's Data and Maps of ArcGIS 2012? It is formatted very different from previous country files ESRI has released. For example, France has 17 records. Granted France owns French Guiana, French Polynesia, and Guadeloupe, as examples, but now nothing in the attribute table would help me easily separate these out to have one record for each commonly-known "country" or unique territory. Even Puerto Rico is nowhere in the attribute table. It is its own polygon, but I have to know it and somehow code the record myself if I want to recognize it separately from the rest of the United States. Couldn't another field be part of the attribute table, like IsoShrtNam or UNShrtNam from previous versions?
