Has anyone had the following hatch label alignment issues?
I'm using 10.0, and have vertical hatches along a route, and the hatch labels are horizontally oriented (rotated 90 deg) with vertical offsets and a text background symbol. It appears that the label's "anchor point" (i.e. ability to set the horizontal offset to left, right, or center) does not work. In other words, I can set the magnitude of the horizontal offset, but can't force the label to center on its new offset location. This would not be a problem, except that without the label centering ability, I have to place my labels using three different horizontal offsets depending on how many digits the label has.
Although I've found a workaround for my problem, it works with my current mxd template only because I'm coincidentally displaying only 9 miles of a route on each page (therefore my mile hatch labels on each page all have the same number of digits). Any suggestions about how to do this without that constraint?
