Hello,
We are a small operation using GIS. I am not really sure how to do this most effectively so I was looking for your guys' sage advice!
We have several computers attached to different personnel that rotate shifts out in the field. At most we may have 2-3 people working at a time, but we have about 6-7 employees and computers that we use. We can't swap computers as we all travel in to central locations from different regions and our computers, though company computers, are also our personal computers as we spend so much time traveling and working, so sharing computers is out of the question as well.
What I'd like to setup is some kind of arrangement whereby we can just check in and check out the licenses we need for work. Since only ever 2-3 operators will be needing to use ArcGIS at a time, I'd prefer only to own 2-3 licenses. Then when the next rotation of workers comes in, the people who had the licenses can check them out and the new shift can check theirs in. No one needs to use ArcGIS when not at work.
Is there a quick and easy way to do this? Most of the time when we are out at work we do not have access to the internet, so a central server or something with all the licenses to connect to isn't really an option.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
