How does a map package format the path for referencing data? What I am trying to achieve is a map package that uses someones local geodatabase (everyone has a .gdb in the same location C:/common/path/to/data.gdb). However, even in that scenario the map package is failing in the runtime so I'm wondering if the path in the map package has a machine name added to it or something.
Another possible scenario I'm facing would be mpk and data (some in SDE and some in file geodatabase) on the same machine and then both the mpk and data getting moved to a new machine. The data needs to be referenced rather than packaged into the map package.
Any tips for setting up packages for these scenarios?
