I'm trying to share a map document .mxd with some data in a .gdb to an ArcGIS 10.2 server. I go through the File > Share As > Service, but when viewing the Service Editor dialog the Capabilities tab shows only "Feature Access" and not "Mapping"/"Network Analysis" etc that I would normally expect.
Analysing the service gives an error "00090: Feature service requires a registered database" although I am unable to register a database (I have never needed to do this before with the 9.3, 10.0 or 10.1 server we test against). The folders the .gdb and .mxd are available to the "everyone" user group and I've tried doing this remotely with ArcMap 10.2 on my laptop and the same on the ArcGIS server itself.
I'm pretty much at a loss now. Can anyone shed some light on why this is happening?
Cheeers,
Chris
