I am wondering if there is a way to place a point feature and snap it to a polyline and have that point automatically absorb the attributes of the line.
The intent here is for one of my clients who does not have Maplex.

What I would like to do is place onto a polyline by snapping it to the line and automaticaly transfer the Road Class and the road number attributes to the point. Hence when it is place it will then take on the predefined road symbol and number.
The method I use now is to place all my points then do a spatial join to centerlines and then do a table join and tranfer the attributes to the points. And this works ok for large numbers of points placed. If I am only placing a couple dozen points I simply copy and paste attributes from one to the other.
