I have a road network within the province of Alberta Canada. Its spatial reference is defined as GCS_North_American_1983_CSRS. I want to project it to NAD83 UTM12N.
In doing so, as expected, I am prompted for a geographic transformation, however, the only option I am provided is NAD_1983_To_NAD_1983_CSRS_4.
After consulting the “geographic_transformations.pdf” document (which claims to only be current as of ArcGIS 9.3) installed with my current version of ArcGIS 10.0, it recommends using NAD_1983_To_NAD_1983_CSRS_3 for all transformations in Alberta and yet the software won’t allow me to choose that from the drop down menu. Does anyone know why NAD_1983_To_NAD_1983_CSRS_3 is not an option for the transformation of this dataset?
