Transfer field domain descriptions 10.1

I recently upgraded to 10.1 and have an issue when using the Feature Class to Feature Class tool with environmental setting to transfer field domain descriptions. In 10.1 the tool gives a new field starting with d_"xxx". In the past (10.0) this same setting gave a new field "xxx"_[DESC]. I have many models that currently look for the "xxx"_[DESC] field but now they will not find it because 10.1 changed to d_"xxx".

Is there any simple way to change how 10.1 names the field domain descriptions when this environmental setting is used?
