I have two datasets set to the same geographic coordinate system (WGS_1984), only the projection for one is way off. The one that's off is from a MapQuest API. The coordinate system is listed as WGS_84_Pseudo_Mercator, and has a Mercator Projection but a Geographic Coordinate System of GCS_WGS_1984. The other datasets I'm working with just have the GCS_WGS_1984 coordinate system and no projection listed.
I imported the coordinate system from the other dataset I'm using to the problematic one to try to eliminate the problem with the projection. When I imported the files into ArcMap though, I got the following error message:
"Warning, inconsistent extent! One or more of the added layers has an extent that is not consistent with the associated spatial reference information. Re-projecting the data in such a layer may lead to unexpected behavior. Use ArcCatalog to confirm the spatial reference is correct and adjust if necessary."
This is probably a really simple fix but I can't find the solution after searching on the web.
