I've used the Point Distance tool to identify points within 10 meters of another point by using the same .shp in the Input and Near Features. I have then selected those records that are 10 meters or less from each other , exported this result as a new .dbf which I joined to a "Sighting" Layer. This is bird sightings for a turbine project.
In my resulting attribute table I can identify birds that are most likely the same bird, redundancy. My Question: How can I now modify this data to make it more accurate?
Example-I can see that bird 2 and bird 3 were observed within 2 meters of each other from the same observation point within a reasonable amount of time. Rather than having 2 records, I'd like only 1, making the data more accurate.
