In the ESRI Script Tool Gallery (http://resources.arcgis.com/gallery/...ryVersion=10.0) I came a
cross a neat tool which opens Google maps in a web browser and zooms it to your location in the .mxd you are working in (http://resources.arcgis.com/gallery/...5-8F28DEE228D6).
The tool works great from a toolbox in ArcCatalog and I'm thrilled to have come across it, however when I follow the instructions in the readme document for adding the script as a button command on a tool bar I receive an error stating "Can’t load type library from specified file." (Error message attached). I have never added a custom tool as a toolbar command, any thoughts on why this error is popping up would be appreciated.
The steps I am taking are: Customize Mode>Command Tab>Add From File, I navigate to the opengmaps.py script as directed, however when I click to add the .py file I receive the error.
The directions in the readme are as follows (.txt file attached):
...If you like this, go ahead and customize your ArcMap.
6) Add a toolbar, e.g. name it Gmaps (and of course add it to your mxd)
7) Add this script as a command
8) Pull the command into your toolbar
You now have a "one click solution" to see your current ArcMap view in Google Maps.
I've hunted around the web for a solution to this error, however all of the information referencing this similar error message are tied to dll issues and things that don't seem similar.
Thank you much!
