I've tried everything I can think of. I'm using ArcGIS 10.0.
I have a parcel that has been surveyed. It's in State Plane NAD 83 PA South (US Feet). (I dropped in the Lat/Long annotation on one corner for reference.) The original file is saved as a CAD 2010 DWG. The first method, I tried converting the DWG to a shapefile in Carlson/CAD 2014. Still with NAD 83 PA-S. After I brought it into Arc, I projected it to WGS84 Web Mercator (Auxillary Sphere) as Stuart suggested in this post: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/571...the-projection
(I had also used regular WGS 84 in the GCS>World folder which did not work either). I then used the Layer to KML tool. Brought in the KMZ into Google earth and dropped a Push Pin on GE to the annotated Lat/Long shown on the DWG. It's off about 3 feet or so. (If you don't have a CAD program or viewer, I have attached the corner push pin from Google Earth)
Next, I tried bringing in the DWG to ArcGIS using the CAD to Geodatabase tool. Then used project, and layer to KML as above. Same results. Let me also say for the transformation I tried both WGS_84 (ITRF00)_NAD 83 AND NAD_1983_To_WGS_1984_5. Same results as well. I don't understand why this is off. I've read that some other programs are better at converting than others, but I really don't want to get yet another program in the mix. If I convert the polygon using the Export to Google Earth tool in Carlson 2014 in comes in perfectly (but without the pop-up window of attributes, which I need). I find it difficult to believe that Carlson does something better than Esri. I hope its a PEBKAC problem and not a error with ArcGIS. I'm up for other ideas!
Edit: I added in a JPG of the KMZ of the Blue parcel created by Carlson 2014 and the Red boundary of the parcel created by ArcMap.
