I've got 44 scanned 3-band CIR air photos that I'm trying to georeference. I have a 30cm resolution RGB digital orthophoto mosaic that I'm trying to use as reference data. I've read that my two datasets need to be as similar as possible, including the spectral properties, in order for the Auto Registration feature in the Georeferencing toolbar in ArcMap to work (I'm using 10.1). Is this just a matter of changing the symbology of one of the datasets or is it impossible to use a natural color dataset to automatically georeference a color infrared dataset? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
