Attribute table opens up full screen everytime - cannot resize

I am working with a coworker who only has one monitor. Every time she right clicks on a layer and chooses Open Attribute Table, it opens full screen. The usual maximize/minimize buttons at the top right hand corner do not do anything. There is no way we have found to grab the edges in either min or max and resize the attribute table. This is a problem in the zoom to selection (from the table), because she then can't see the map and table on the same screen. She is running Windows 7 and ArcMap 10.1.
