Editing Feature Services without versions

I have the following problem. My database is behind firewalls, and i have access only to arcgis server. So i have read that editing feature services in arcmap is done only with versioned feature layers. But i don't want to use versions because i 'll have problems with my related alphanumeric tables, and also i am not interested in versions. Do i have any alternative in editing these feature services? Is it possible to develop with arcobjects some custom logic?
