Here's the scoop - I need to collect a data set with X, Y, and Z coordinates so I can send it to someone else in a file geodatabase so they can add it to it 3D modeling of an area. I am using a Trimble to collect the points and GPS Pathfinder Office to import/correct/export. The issue arises in the fact that I need to do a good amount of post-processing to the data after it is collected, but before it is sent off. What I'm trying to understand is what sort of risks/loss of integrity to the data will I encounter if I use GPS Pathfinder to export to MS Access, then copy to Excel, edit in Excel, then bring that Excel file back into ArcMap. I don't imagine there's any issue converting Lat/Long to the State Plane coordinate system I'm aiming for, but are there any other pieces of data that might be lost in the process (versus simply exporting from Pathfinder as a file geodatabase)? I also need to include Max PDOP, etc.
Thanks for the help!
