ArcMap shut down when adding xy data

Hi,

I am using ArcGIS 10.0 on Windows 8. Arcmap shut down when I trying to add xy data (It hanged for a few second after I selected the datasheet contains xy data then shut down). I tried several times and got the same result. But this function worked well last night.

Any help would be appreciated.
