I have made an extension in 10.1 Desktop. I made a tool to select a road segment and populate a dialog with the segment's attributes. I would like this tool to select the feature with a user point only (not a user rectangle of a buffer from the user point). I also don't want the road layer to be selectable.
How can I select a single line/polyline feature from a non-selectable layer with a user point in the map, then determine the percentage along that line feature touched by the user point?
