First, I searched numerous times in the forums for an existing topic on my issue and found none. If you know my question is already answered somewhere please share the link.
I am attempting to create AGO maps that will contain points and polygons that are used to deliver facility performance data for a fiscal year. I have done this before but I am certain it was before I switched to 10.1 from 9.3.
PROBLEM: If I export my feature class (point or polygon) to .shp and zip and upload (pre-joining it with the performance data) it works. BUT, what I really need to do is display the .shp in an AGO map AFTER i join facility performance data to the pt/poly feature classes using Arcmap. I have successfully done this before about a year ago (in 9.3), no big deal. This is the error (see pic) I get only after trying to upload .shp files that contain the joined data. If I zip and upload the .shp before the join it works perfectly. It seems to be about the join.

Here are the alleyways I have pursued to find a solution. BTW, when I validate the joins I get all records in the performance data to match up to a facility features.
One of two things I have been able to detect is a difference in file extensions created by Arcmap when I export to .shp. The differences is a .shp.xml file that is created in the pre-join shapefiles (but not the post-join) and this is the version that will upload (zipped) to AGO. The second item I notice, it may be nothing, is that despite Join Validation showing a complete join I am missing some facilities in the count number that is shown on the export to shapefile window that flashes. Example, 196 facilities are joined with data but on export (eg) 174 out of 196 are shown to be exported DESPITE the shapefile containing all 196 when I add it to Arcmap and examine the attribute table. Maybe this is just nothing.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide. This ate up most of my day trying different things in hope of a solution.

- 1403 happens to correspond with a facility authorization number in the poly set. I checked the cells and data types, etc.. no issues. AND I get the error with the pt feature class despite there being no 1403 authorization number in that data. So, not the problem.
- I tried exporting the feature classes to .shp first and then joining and uploading .shp zipped. Same error is thrown.
- I slimmed the data set down to one record and did a miniature example to see if it was a portion of the datasets. Nope, same error thrown.
- I am doing this with feature classes being served to me from a server at work. I thought maybe that was an issue since last year I did it all local on my computer. So, I used a local (flashdrive and C drive) version of the facility data to see if it was the problem. The performance data (either from excel or a dbf) is local. Nope, same error.
